SALTED CARAMEL & CREAM CHEESE BAGEL

Ingrediants

  • Serves 4
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 red delicious apples, cored and cut into wedges
  • 200g cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 35g walnuts, roughly chopped and toasted
  • 4 x The Natural ABE'S Bagels

Spread with a blend of vanilla, cinnamon & cream cheese, this sweet tooth’s dream is then embellished with apple slices & drenched in salted caramel.

Method

Melt butter in a large non-stick frypan over a medium heat. Add the apple wedges and fry on both sides until golden brown. Set aside to cool slightly.

Using an electric beater, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add the icing sugar, vanilla extract and cinnamon and beat for a further 3 minutes or until well combined.

Cut bagels in half and toast until golden brown.

Combine caramel and salt.

Smear a generous spoonful of cream cheese onto the cut side of both halves of the bagel. Top with fried apple, caramel sauce and walnuts.
